Una adivinanza es un tipo de poema que describe algo sin nombrar realmente lo que es, dejando al lector el labor de adivinarlo. Una adivinanza es un tipo de poesía ligera que involucra al lector. Las adivinanzas pueden ser sobre cualquier cosa, desde enigmas sobre animales hasta enigmas sobre objetos. No hay reglas sobre cómo estructurar una adivinanza, «un Riddle» (en ingles) puede tener como fin divertir, rimar, etc. dependiendo de la persona que lo escriba
